Bude to Crackington Haven 10

The weather wasn't too bad, warm with a breeze and just a few short showers but no sun.

Bude - Crooklets Beach

Bude Canal
Bude has two lovely sandy beaches, a river and a canal, several shops, pubs and cafes and looks to be an ideal spot for a family holiday.
Leaving Bude behind us we followed a grassy cliff top for about a mile to Upton folllowed by Widemouth Bay.

The fun started after this with a steep ascent on to Penhalt Cliff and three more steep ups and downs at Millook, Chipman Point and Castle Point.

At Chipman Point there is a bench which shows the distance from Poole (500 miles) and Minehead (132 miles)

It also came in handy for a lunch stop before tackling the remaining ups and downs.
We arrived in Crackington Haven with time for a cup of tea before catching the bus back to Bude.
Once back in Bude we had a paddle on Summerleaze Beach and then a meal in the the Brendan Arms before turning in for the night.
