Tintagel to Port Isaac 9

Another cloudy, misty, breezy day but the sun did eventually shine in the evening in Port Isaac. But first a quick look around the free parts of Tintagel Castle. Not very impressive as there isn't much left of it.

Then up on to the cliff top where we met two young ladies who had been staying in the YHA perched perilously on the cliff top.
They had also been in our first B&B in Bude escaping the stormy weather but their intention was to wild camp and we saw them several times along the way.

The going was fairly easy until we reached Trebarwith Strand but there were over 200 steps to reach the cliff top from here.

Between here and Port Gaverne there were seven punishing ascents and descents to contend with so its a good job the walk was only nine miles.

As we reached Port Gaverne the weather improved and we were soon over the hill and down into Port Isaac where we found our B&B conveniently situated near the Co-op.
As the evening was so delightful after all the gloomy weather we decided to have fish and chips outside in the sunshine and then had a look round the village. If you watch Doc Martin you will recognise some of these places.

A lovely relaxing evening after all our hard work to get here.
