Crackington Haven to Tintagel 11.5

We had a good night's sleep but there was heavy rain and thunderstorms overnight and some parts of Cornwall were flooded.
We packed up our suitcases ready to move on to Tintagel and after another lovely breakfast we set off into the town to catch the bus to Crackington Haven. Although it is good to stay more than one night in the same place, it does mean that you are at the mercy of the buses which can be few and far between in some places. However Bude is well served with buses and before long we were back outside the Cabin Cafe in Crackington Haven ready to start our walk.
Crackington Haven
Some of these beautiful little bays look very sad and bleak when the sun doesn't shine and everything is closed.

Boscastle
It rained all the way to Boscastle and this made the paths quite slippery so it took longer than expected. I was only going this far as I had walked Boscastle to Tintagel several times before. Margaret was due to meet some friends in Boscastle so she left me towards the end of my walk but unfortunately missed them but caught up with them later near Tintagel.
The rain had stopped by this time so after tea and toasted tea cake in the new visitor centre I spent some time exploring and sitting on a harbour wall. I also watched a video about the devastating flooding in 2009.

I was glad to have a rest as my toes were hurting with all the steep descenst and as I realised later I had damaged my big toe nails.....ouch!
I caught the bus to Tintagel and Margaret walked the rest of the way meeting her friends walking towards her about half an hour from the end. We met up close to the Camelot Castle Hotel that dominates the skyline.

Our B&B the Bosayne Guest House was nearby and we were greeted with tea and home made cake by the owner. It was clean and the food was good but our room was very small. By this time my toes were quite painful and I had to resort to painkillers for the next few days.
We had a nice meal at Ye Olde Malthouse which was very busy and then had a look around Tintagel.
